A Lasting Solution for a Deteriorating Roof

In Tultitlán, Mexico, a leading data center provides critical technology infrastructure for major global clients including Citibank and Google. The facility supports cloud storage, cybersecurity, and automation services - where reliability and environmental control are essential.

The 170,000-sq-ft roof was originally waterproofed with a single-ply PVC membrane that began to fail after only six years due to intense UV exposure and limited maintenance. Early deterioration created risks for the sensitive computing equipment housed inside.

To evaluate the condition of the existing assembly, a thermographic study was conducted by our technical expert in the region. The results identified moisture presence and confirmed the roof was suitable for restoration rather than full replacement. A seamless Enduris™ 3525 roof coating system was then selected to help deliver long-term waterproofing protection and energy efficiency.

Enduris 3525 roof coating was chosen for its proven resistance to UV radiation, temperature extremes, and ponding water - key performance factors in the region’s climate.

The single-coat, primerless system simplified installation and minimized downtime for the data center’s operations. Once cured, the 100% silicone membrane forms a fully adhered, flexible barrier that expands and contracts with the roof, maintaining integrity even under thermal stress.

The coating’s finish also helps mitigate heat gain, supporting cooler roof surface temperatures and improved building energy efficiency. The system is backed by a 10-year material warranty for added confidence in long-term performance.
